Getting started
From signup to your first delivered edition: connect sources, configure the paper, preview it, then go live.
Paperbeam writes your company its own daily newspaper from the tools you already use. Setup is a seven-step wizard that saves as you go, so you can leave and come back. Most teams finish in about ten minutes. The four stages below map onto the wizard at Onboarding.
1. Connect
Sign up at paperbeam.ai/signup with Google, Microsoft or a magic link sent to your work email. Paperbeam creates a workspace for your company, with you as its owner.
Name your paper (Masthead)
Pick a name, tagline and one of five templates: Broadsheet (classic multi-column), Modern (clean single column), Tabloid (bold headlines, big numbers), Briefing (scannable bullets with “Why it matters”) and Magazine (large lead visual and pull quotes). Enter your website and we pull your logo and colors, then check contrast. The preview updates as you type.
Connect your tools (Sources)
Connect at least one source. Each tile says what it adds to the paper. Catalog sources such as HubSpot, Gong, Linear, GitHub, Stripe and Slack connect through a read-only OAuth or API-key flow. Not ready to connect real data? Connect Northwind demo data, a simulated 150-person company, and try everything first. See Sources.
2. Configure
Choose your beats (Sections)
Toggle and reorder the sections of your paper (wins, customer calls, product, team news and more), then set the voice (tone) and length. See House style and sections.
When and where it lands (Delivery)
Pick a schedule (for example weekdays at 7:30 a.m. in your time zone) and channels: email plus Slack, Microsoft Teams, Roam or Google Chat. See Delivery.
Who signs off (Approval)
Choose how much review each edition gets: auto-publish, auto-publish unless something is flagged, or an editor approves every edition. See The Galley and approvals.
3. Preview
Print your first edition. Paperbeam writes yesterday’s paper from your connected sources. Only you can see it. The preview is free and needs no card. It runs the full pipeline, including every verification gate, so what you see is what your company would get.
4. Go live
Start your 10 free editions. Add a card in Stripe Checkout. Your card is charged only after edition 10 is delivered, and you can cancel any time before. Scheduled delivery to your whole company starts with the next slot. Details: Billing and plans.

Recipients and readers
Recipients get the edition by email. Add them one by one or paste a list or CSV with name, email columns. Reading the web edition and the archive requires a Paperbeam account in your workspace, so invite people who should browse the archive as Readers at Settings›Team.
Try it locally (developers)
Building against Paperbeam or contributing? The repo runs with no keys at all: embedded Postgres, the offline writer and a billing simulator.
