Billing and plans
Plans, reader bands, the 10-edition free trial, add-ons, upgrades, invoices, failed payments and cancellation.
Paperbeam is priced per company, by reader band, never per seat. Every plan includes all templates, email and chat delivery, the approval workflow, the full archive and search. Manage billing at Settings›Billing (owners only). Payments, invoices and tax are handled by Stripe.

The free trial
- Preview edition, no card. During setup, generate a private preview from your own data.
- 10 free editions. Add a card in Stripe Checkout to go live. Nothing is charged yet.
- Automatic conversion. When the 10th company edition is delivered, the trial ends and your plan starts. If you haven’t used all 10 within 30 days, the trial ends on day 30.
- Only delivered company editions count. Previews, back issues and department editions are free during the trial.
- We email the owners when 2 free editions are left.
- Cancel any time before conversion in the billing portal and you won’t be charged.
- One trial per workspace.
Reader bands
Your reader count is active email recipients plus members who signed in to read in the last 30 days. Each person counts once. If you outgrow your band, we let you know and suggest the plan that fits. The current count is shown at Settings → Delivery & recipients.

Recurring add-ons follow your billing interval: annual subscriptions pay 10 months for 12.
Changing plans
- Upgrades (including monthly to annual) take effect immediately, and you’re invoiced the prorated difference. The app shows a preview of the charge first.
- Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.
Invoices, tax and payment methods
Open Manage billing on the billing page for the Stripe customer portal: update your card, download invoices and receipts, and change your billing address or tax ID. Sales tax and VAT are calculated by Stripe Tax from your billing address. Add your VAT or GST number at checkout or in the portal.
Failed payments

Paying the invoice at any point before cancellation restores everything immediately.
On-time guarantee
If an edition arrives more than 30 minutes after its scheduled time, we credit one edition’s worth (your monthly plan price ÷ 22) to your account automatically. It comes off your next invoice.
Canceling
Cancel in the billing portal. Your paper continues until the end of the paid period. After that, the archive stays readable and exportable at Settings›Security & data. To remove your data entirely, delete the workspace.
